Provides a valuable stepping-stone for people to increase their education, employability and skills, linking into other schemes provided by the association and other organisations, offering basic skills training and volunteering therefore offering local people a pathway to progress into further education, training and jobs.
The provision is aimed at providing vulnerable people gardening services that reduce social exclusion and increasing local residents skills and employability. The provision provides intensive one to one support, flexible work experience and accredited and non- accredited training provision for hard to reach local residents from targeted communities. The project helps improve motivation and confidence of beneficiaries to access other accredited and non-accredited provision and support to increase their skills and employability.
The service offers impartial information and advice, raising awareness of employment and training opportunities. Resources available are: photocopying, CV writing and alterations, letter writing, telephone, fax, internet job recruitment papers and signposting to training and employment organisations.
